Genshin Impact 7.2 Valeriy Build: Weapons, Artifacts and Teams

·Genshin Impact Guides Hub

Valeriy is a new 4-star Electro Sword support in Genshin Impact 7.2. He combines an ATK-scaling shield, off-field Electro application and damage support, with his strongest offensive benefits aimed at Electro Stellar-Conduct carries such as Mitya and Cyno.

Valeriy's Role: Electro Stellar-Conduct Shield Support

Valeriy's Supercharged Shield protects the active character, while his special Charged Attack turns Impact Momentum into Offensive Directive. This adds damage to a limited number of eligible Electro hits based on Valeriy's ATK. Inside a Polestar Field, the effect specializes in Electro damage treated as Stellar-Conduct reaction damage.

His core kit works at low Constellations. Higher Constellations improve energy flow, support and shielding, with C6 making him a particularly strong partner for Mitya. Cryo Stellar-Conduct carries can still use his shield and Electro application, but do not receive the same specialized Electro damage support. C2’s shared EM buff is a separate benefit.

Conventional Electro carries can also use his support outside Stellar-Conduct, although the offensive benefit is weaker. Build him around a team that needs both protection and his particular damage buff.

Weapon Recommendations: Balance ATK and Energy Recharge

Both his shield and damage support benefit from ATK, but his Burst also matters to the rotation. Choose a weapon that lets him use it consistently before chasing a larger ATK stat.

5-Star Swords You May Already Own

  • Skyward Blade: combines high Base ATK with Energy Recharge for a balanced support build.

  • Athame Artis: consider it when supporting an ATK-scaling damage dealer who can use its team ATK effect. Its value depends on the lineup.

  • Freedom-Sworn: a team-buff option if Valeriy can reliably trigger the required reactions. Check which bonuses your carry actually uses; a reaction-classified attack does not automatically benefit from every attack-type bonus.

  • Summit Shaper: offers substantial ATK for his shield and support. Its stacking passive needs hits and field time, so do not assume full stacks throughout a short support rotation.

4-Star Swords and Accessible Alternatives

  • Favonius Sword: a practical energy option for both Valeriy and his team. Build enough CRIT Rate and land hits on-field to trigger its particles.

  • Fleuve Cendre Ferryman: an Energy Recharge option if you already have the Fontaine fishing weapon.

  • Amenoma Kageuchi: ATK plus energy restoration, provided the rotation builds and consumes its Succession Seeds.

  • Sacrificial Sword: Energy Recharge and a possible Skill reset. The reset chance and cooldown depend on refinement, so it is not a guaranteed extra cast.

Use a suitable existing sword first. A support build usually gains more from reliable rotations than from spending specifically on a premium weapon.

Artifacts and Stat Priorities

Two ATK% 2-piece sets are a straightforward starting point, providing 36% ATK with flexible substats. An existing A Day Carved From Rising Winds set is also usable; there is no need to replace strong pieces immediately.

If nobody else equips Heart of the Furnace, Valeriy can carry it for the team. Noblesse Oblige is another option when teammates such as Odette benefit from ATK. Instructor can provide EM, but Valeriy must trigger a reaction on-field: applying Cryo with Odette first can help set that up.

  • Sands: Energy Recharge or ATK%.

  • Goblet: ATK%.

  • Circlet: ATK%.

  • Substats: enough Energy Recharge, then ATK%; add CRIT Rate when using Favonius Sword.

For a C1, zero-starting-Energy setup, the initial reference is around 240% ER in double Electro or 200% in triple Electro. These are cold-start build estimates, not universal requirements: particle generation, Favonius triggers, who catches particles and the rotation all matter. Test the opening you actually use. Sacrificing some ATK is worthwhile if it makes his Burst consistently available.

Talent Priority and Basic Rotation

Prioritize Normal Attack and Elemental Skill. Offensive Directive scales with the Normal Attack talent, while the Skill strengthens his shield. His Burst is a lower talent-level priority because personal damage is not his main job; that does not mean skipping the Burst during combat. Its off-field attacks help build Impact Momentum.

Use E → CA → Q or E → Q → CA, then switch to your carry. E means Skill, Q means Burst and CA means his special Charged Attack. The important step is spending Impact Momentum to activate Offensive Directive, rather than stopping after the shield appears.

With at least 40 Impact Momentum, a Normal Attack input within 0.8 seconds after E or Q converts into the special Charged Attack. This makes a quick attack tap sufficient in that window; outside it, use the Charged Attack input. Refresh the support effect before your carry’s damage window.

Constellations: Energy, EM and Electro Support

  • C1: the special Charged Attack restores Energy, up to 15 per trigger with a 15-second cooldown. His first Skill after entering combat also grants extra Impact Momentum, helping the opening setup.

  • C2: grants nearby party members 100 EM for 18 seconds after his Skill. Excess Momentum at the cap can improve shield absorption.

  • C3: adds three Normal Attack talent levels, improving the damage-support scaling.

  • C4: raises the Impact Momentum cap from 100 to 130 and increases its charging efficiency by 30%. This is his special resource, not his Elemental Energy capacity.

  • C6: enemies hit by his special Charged Attack or Burst shells receive an effect lasting seven seconds: Electro damage against them gains 10% CRIT Rate, and eligible Electro Stellar-Conduct damage gains an additional 40% CRIT DMG.

C1, C2, C3, C4 and C6 all offer useful upgrades, with C2 and C6 standing out for offensive support. Higher Constellations are worth using when obtained, but a specific 4-star is not guaranteed within a fixed number of wishes. Keep the featured 5-star and your own stopping point in mind before planning a Genshin Impact top-up.

Electro Stellar-Conduct teams make the fullest use of Valeriy. The lineups below select one character per slot; alternatives are not additional party members.

Mitya Stellar-Conduct

Mitya + Valeriy + Odette / Qiqi / Diona + Sucrose / Yae Miko / Alyosha / Xilonen / Cryo Traveler. Valeriy protects Mitya’s Charged Attack sequence and provides specialized damage support. Odette is the preferred Cryo partner; Sucrose supplies EM and Viridescent Venerer RES reduction. Qiqi can also fill a flex healing slot when needed.

Cyno Stellar-Conduct

Cyno + Valeriy + Odette / Qiqi / Diona + Xilonen / Qiqi / Nicole / Mitya / Yae Miko / Alyosha. Valeriy combines shielding with Electro support for Cyno. Choose the last slot around energy, buff coverage and sustain instead of assuming every alternative performs identically.

Conventional Electro and Overloaded

Varesa / Clorinde / Raiden Shogun + Valeriy + Durin / Mavuika + Chevreuse / Nicole. These teams use his conventional Electro support and shield rather than his strongest Stellar-Conduct effects. The Chevreuse version should remain entirely Pyro and Electro to preserve her relevant team passive; a Nicole variant follows a different support setup.

Flins: A Shielding Alternative

Flins + Valeriy + Columbina + Sucrose. This lineup values Valeriy mainly for shielding and Electro application. Flins’ Lunar-Charged damage does not automatically qualify for Valeriy’s specialized Electro Stellar-Conduct support, so do not transfer the Mitya-team benefits directly. If Ineffa or Alyosha already covers the slot well, compare the team’s actual needs before replacing them.

Is Valeriy Worth Building?

Valeriy is most compelling for an Electro Stellar-Conduct carry, especially Mitya. Start by securing his Burst rotation, then improve ATK, Normal Attack talent levels and shielding. Low Constellations already provide his basic role, while higher Constellations strengthen the package. Other Electro teams can use him when they need protection and application, but his value depends on how much of his offensive support they can actually use.
