Marvel Rivals Gorr Guide (Season 10): Abilities, Combos, Counters & Team-Ups

Gorr the God Butcher joined Marvel Rivals with Season 10 on September 11 as a melee Duelist built around Black Berserkers, Bonus Health, target isolation, and repeated engage-disengage cycles. His strongest players do not simply dive the backline and keep swinging—they create Berserkers in useful positions, pressure a target, then decide whether to continue the kill or teleport back to safety.
Want Lattice for Gorr's Divine Destroyer costume, Battle Pass content, or other Marvel Rivals cosmetics? You can purchase Lattice through Topuplist Marvel Rivals Top-Up. Topuplist uses UID-based direct top-up and currently offers multiple Lattice packages. Gorr himself is free to play, so Lattice is only needed for optional premium content.
Gorr officially arrived in the September 11 Season 10 update, and the September 17 patch did not include a Gorr balance adjustment, so his launch kit remains current as of September 18.
Gorr Build and Playstyle at a Glance
Gorr Overview | Recommendation |
|---|---|
Role | Melee Duelist |
Survivability | 175 Health + 175 Regenerative Shield |
Core Mechanic | Black Berserker management |
Best Targets | Isolated or exposed backliners |
Main Engage | Living Abyss |
Main Reposition | Shadow Harvest |
Team-Ups | Ragnarök / Hive Mind |
Main Skill Test | Knowing when to engage and when to reset |
Biggest Mistake | Sending every Berserker forward and leaving no safe exit |
Gorr's real resource is not just Health—it is where his Black Berserkers are positioned. They deal damage, generate Bonus Health, and give Shadow Harvest places to teleport.
How Gorr's Abilities Actually Work
Rather than treating every skill separately, think of Gorr's kit as one repeating cycle:
Create Berserker → Pick a Target → Dive → Build Bonus Health → Finish or Harvest Out → Reset
Ability | Main Combat Purpose |
|---|---|
All-Black | Primary melee damage |
Black Berserker | Damage, pressure, and teleport anchor |
Necro-Power | Focus a target and reposition Berserkers |
Living Abyss | Invulnerable engage or disengage |
Shadow Harvest | Teleport, sustain, and follow-up pressure |
Berserker Swarm | Converts Berserker damage and eliminations into momentum |
Twilight of the Gods | Teamfight pressure and mass Berserker generation |
All-Black
All-Black performs a four-hit melee combo.
It is Gorr's basic damage tool, but you do not always need to finish all four swings. If the enemy is escaping, crowd control is incoming, or your safe window is ending, repositioning can be worth more than forcing the final hit.
A common Gorr mistake is losing an entire fight because you wanted one more melee swing.
Black Berserker
Black Berserkers are the center of Gorr's kit.
They can:
Attack enemies
Generate Bonus Health for Gorr
Move to Necro-Power targets
Become Frenzied through Living Abyss
Be consumed by Shadow Harvest
Multiply during Twilight of the Gods
That means a Berserker safely positioned behind you can sometimes be more valuable than one dealing damage in front of you.
Think of them as combat resources and map anchors, not ordinary summons.
Necro-Power: Choose the Right Target
Necro-Power launches symbiote matter that Slows its target and sends nearby Black Berserkers toward that enemy. If no suitable Berserker is available, Gorr can create one. Arriving Berserkers perform melee strikes that Launch nearby enemies.
The key is target selection.
Good Necro-Power targets include:
A Strategist who already used mobility
An isolated Duelist
A low-health enemy trying to retreat
A poor target is often the full-health Vanguard standing closest to you.
If you send every Berserker toward the tank, you may gain short-term damage while losing the safe Berserker behind you that could have been used to escape.
Living Abyss: Plan Your Exit Before You Dive
Living Abyss lets Gorr move forward as an Invulnerable symbiote mass, leaves a Black Berserker behind, Frenzies active Berserkers, and creates a damaging Necroverse after landing.
This ability is both an engage and an escape tool.
But before using it aggressively, ask:
Where am I coming back to?
The Berserker left near your starting point can become your Shadow Harvest escape anchor.
A good Gorr player does not dive first and look for an exit later.
The exit is part of the dive plan.
Shadow Harvest: Gorr's Most Important Decision Tool
Shadow Harvest teleports Gorr to a selected Black Berserker, consumes it, grants Bonus Health based on the Berserker's remaining Health, triggers a symbiote explosion, and temporarily unlocks additional scythe pressure. Its cooldown is only around three seconds.
There are two main ways to use it.
Defensive Harvest: Teleport back to a Berserker positioned safely behind your team or cover.
Offensive Harvest: Move to a Berserker closer to a vulnerable target and continue the fight.
The real skill is deciding:
Which Berserker is worth sacrificing?
Consuming your only safe escape anchor just to gain slightly more damage can turn a winning dive into a death.
Best Gorr Combos in Season 10
There is no single combo for every fight. Use different sequences depending on how much risk you need to take.
Safe Pressure Combo
Black Berserker → Necro-Power → All-Black
Use this when enemies are already within reach.
You create Berserker pressure without spending Living Abyss, keeping your strongest mobility tool available if the fight changes.
Standard Dive Combo
Place Black Berserker safely → Living Abyss → Necro-Power → All-Black → Shadow Harvest
This is the basic Gorr engage-reset pattern.
The important part is placing or preserving a Berserker in a safe location before committing.
If the target dies, you can continue.
If enemy peel arrives, Harvest back out.
Short Solo-Queue Dive
Safe Berserker → Living Abyss → Necro-Power → 2–3 All-Black hits → Evaluate → Shadow Harvest out
You do not always need a kill.
If you force:
A Strategist escape ability
Defensive cooldowns
Vanguard peel
An Ultimate
and survive, the dive may already be successful.
This is usually safer than forcing every engage into a one-for-one trade.
Who Should Gorr Target First?
Gorr is strongest when he turns positioning mistakes into isolated fights.
Priority 1: Exposed Strategists
His mobility, Slow, Berserkers, and melee pressure are especially dangerous against supports that have already used their escape tools.
Priority 2: Isolated Duelists
A Duelist separated from team peel is often easier to convert than attacking the frontline.
Priority 3: Low-Health Vanguards
Gorr can finish damaged tanks, especially during larger Berserker-heavy fights.
Lower Priority: Full-Health Vanguard With Support
Spending your entire rotation hitting a tank while two Strategists freely heal behind them is usually poor target selection.
Ragnarök vs Hive Mind: Which Gorr Team-Up Is Better?
Gorr currently has two Team-Ups: Ragnarök with Hela and Hive Mind with Venom.
You Need... | Better Fit |
|---|---|
Close-range control | Ragnarök |
Grounded effect | Ragnarök |
More range and Bonus Health with partner | Ragnarök + Hela |
Pull enemies into melee range | Hive Mind |
Stronger Berserkers | Hive Mind + Venom |
Extra Slow pressure | Hive Mind + Venom |
Solo brawl value | Ragnarök |
Coordinated dive setup | Hive Mind |
You can review Marvel Rivals' current Team-Up system on the official Marvel Rivals Team-Up page.
Ragnarök With Hela
Ragnarök allows Gorr to transform All-Black into a scythe and perform a sweeping strike that damages and briefly Grounds nearby enemies.
When Hela is present, the Enhanced Effect increases the scythe's reach and causes hits to generate symbiote fragments that grant Bonus Health to Gorr and nearby allies.
Choose Ragnarök when your main problem is:
staying dangerous once you are already in melee range.
The Grounded effect helps punish mobile enemies, while the Hela enhancement gives Gorr more reach and sustain during a brawl.
Hive Mind With Venom
Hive Mind gives Gorr a Symbiote Claw that travels forward, deals piercing damage, and pulls caught enemies back toward him when it retracts.
With Venom, Gorr's Black Berserkers gain extra damage and apply a Slow when they hit enemies.
Choose Hive Mind when your team wants:
target displacement and coordinated dive pressure.
Venom can enter with Gorr, while the Claw can bring a vulnerable target closer to his melee range.
The enhanced Berserker damage and Slow also make it harder for enemies to simply walk away from the pressure.
Best Teammates for Gorr
Hela and Venom are the obvious choices because they improve his Team-Ups, but Gorr also benefits from three broader types of teammates.
Dive Vanguards: Enter with Gorr so the entire enemy team cannot focus him immediately.
Long-range Duelists: Pressure enemies while Gorr occupies the backline, forcing opponents to choose where to look.
Mobile or reliable Strategists: Gorr frequently moves in and out of dangerous positions, so he benefits more from support that can follow his fight rhythm than from healing numbers alone.
The best Gorr composition is not simply "put Hela or Venom in the team." It needs enough follow-up to convert the space Gorr creates.
How to Counter Gorr
The best way to counter Gorr is to attack his Berserker loop, not just his Health bar.
Use Crowd Control Before Shadow Harvest
Gorr becomes vulnerable if he dives deep but cannot reach his escape anchor.
Reliable Stun, Immobilize, Grounded effects, or other hard control can punish the brief window between his engage and Shadow Harvest.
Clear Important Black Berserkers
Do not automatically ignore the summons.
A Berserker positioned safely behind Gorr may provide:
An escape location
Bonus Health
Additional pressure
Destroying that Berserker can make the next dive much harder for him to survive.
Punish Clumped Berserkers
Gorr can generate multiple nearby units during a fight.
Heroes with effective area damage or attacks that gain value from clustered targets can pressure both Gorr and his Berserker network at the same time.
Force Living Abyss Early
If Gorr has to spend Living Abyss escaping poke or avoiding damage before the real teamfight starts, his next engage becomes much less threatening.
Don't Chase Shadow Harvest Blindly
A low-health Gorr who Harvests backward may suddenly gain Bonus Health while moving directly toward his team.
Winning space is often enough.
Do not turn a successful defense into a bad chase.
Common Gorr Mistakes
Sending every Berserker forward. You remove your own escape network.
Using Living Abyss without planning the return. The dive begins before the exit has been prepared.
Necro-Powering the closest enemy. You may move all your Berserkers toward the wrong target.
Shadow Harvesting the wrong Berserker. Sometimes preserving a safe anchor is worth more than another offensive reposition.
Fighting Vanguards forever. Gorr usually creates more value by threatening exposed backliners.
Treating Bonus Health like Vanguard durability. Gorr remains a Duelist and can still be punished when overextended.
Using Twilight of the Gods before your team is ready. More Berserkers do not matter if nobody can follow your pressure.
Gorr Ultimate: When to Use Twilight of the Gods
Twilight of the Gods transforms All-Black into the Annihilablade and creates a moving Necroverse. Gorr instantly generates a Black Berserker beside enemies within range, while Berserkers in the field become Frenzied and stop expiring for the Ultimate's duration.
The best Ultimates usually happen when:
A teamfight has already started
Several enemies are inside the engagement area
Your teammates are close enough to follow
Enemy defensive cooldowns are already being pressured
Do not think of the Ultimate as:
"Gorr now kills six people alone."
Its real value is forcing enemies to simultaneously deal with:
Gorr + multiple Berserkers + Necroverse pressure + the rest of your team.
FAQ
What role is Gorr in Marvel Rivals?
Gorr is a melee Duelist introduced in Season 10 on September 11, 2026.
How much Health does Gorr have?
Current game data lists Gorr at 175 Health plus 175 Regenerative Shield.
What is Gorr's most important mechanic?
Black Berserker management. Berserkers contribute damage, Bonus Health generation, Necro-Power pressure, and Shadow Harvest positioning.
What is the best Gorr combo?
A reliable dive sequence is:
Safe Black Berserker → Living Abyss → Necro-Power → All-Black → Shadow Harvest
The safe Berserker position matters more than memorizing the button order.
Should Gorr use Ragnarök or Hive Mind?
Use Ragnarök when you want stronger close-range control and sustain. Use Hive Mind when you want target displacement, stronger Berserkers, and coordinated dive pressure.
Who counters Gorr?
Heroes or team compositions with reliable crowd control, strong AoE, high mobility, and tools that can destroy his Black Berserkers are naturally effective at disrupting his engage-reset cycle.
Should you destroy Gorr's Black Berserkers?
Yes, especially Berserkers placed safely behind his dive. Removing them can reduce both his Bonus Health generation and his Shadow Harvest escape options.
Did Gorr get nerfed after Season 10 launched?
As of the September 17, 2026 patch, Gorr has not received a post-launch balance adjustment. The September 17 hero balance change specifically targeted Scarlet Witch's Reality Erasure.
