Genshin Impact Wanderer Build Guide: Best Weapons, Artifacts, Team Comps & Materials
Build Wanderer as a 5-star Anemo Catalyst DPS with the best artifacts, weapons, talents, constellations, teams, and materials.
Wanderer, also known by many players as Scaramouche, is a 5-star Anemo Catalyst character in Genshin Impact and a unique on-field DPS who can fight while airborne through his Elemental Skill.
His main damage comes from using his Elemental Skill to enter the Windfavored state, then dealing continuous Anemo damage with enhanced Normal Attacks and Charged Attacks. While airborne, Wanderer consumes Kuugoryoku Points to stay in the air, move, dash, dodge, or increase his floating height, making him one of the most comfortable characters for both combat and open-world exploration.
🔥 Bonus Tip: If you are preparing Primogems for Wanderer, his signature weapon, or key teammates like Faruzan and Furina, you can recharge safely through Topuplist. For direct access, visit the Genshin Impact top-up page to top up Genesis Crystals quickly before upcoming banners.

Wanderer Skills and Talent Priority
Wanderer is an on-field Anemo carry whose damage depends heavily on his Normal Attack talent and Elemental Skill uptime. His Elemental Burst is useful as a finishing move, but it is usually lower priority before C2.
Talent Priority
Recommended investment: 10 / 9 / 9 or 10 / 9 / 10. After C2, upgrading Elemental Burst becomes more valuable because his Burst gains much higher damage potential during the Windfavored state.
Normal Attack – Yuuban Meigen
Wanderer’s Normal Attack is his main damage talent. He releases wind blades that deal Anemo DMG, with the third attack dealing two hits. His wind blades also have good enemy tracking, making his airborne attacks feel smooth and consistent.
Since most of Wanderer’s sustained damage comes from enhanced Normal Attacks and Charged Attacks during his Elemental Skill, this talent should be crowned first.
Elemental Skill – Hanega: Song of the Wind
Wanderer’s Elemental Skill deals AoE Anemo DMG and launches him into the Windfavored state. This is the core of his gameplay.
While Windfavored is active:
Wanderer’s Normal and Charged Attack damage and AoE are increased.
His Charged Attacks no longer consume Stamina.
He cannot perform Plunging Attacks.
He consumes 10 Kuugoryoku Points per second to remain airborne.
Jumping consumes additional Kuugoryoku Points to increase height.
Sprinting or dodging consumes Kuugoryoku Points for fast aerial movement and i-frames.
When Kuugoryoku Points are depleted, Wanderer naturally descends.
Wanderer starts with 100 Kuugoryoku Points by default. Even if he is hit or launched by enemies while airborne, he will not immediately fall, but interruption can still hurt his damage flow. You can press Elemental Skill again to end the Windfavored state early.
For exploration, when flying over hills or uneven terrain, release the movement direction and only press sprint to avoid slowing down your flight speed.
Elemental Burst – Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays
Wanderer’s Elemental Burst rapidly deals five instances of AoE Anemo DMG. If used during the Windfavored state, the state ends afterward and Wanderer descends.
Before C2, his Burst is usually used as a finisher after his Elemental Skill damage window, or sometimes before using Skill depending on the rotation. After C2, use his Burst during the Windfavored state when Kuugoryoku Points are below half to maximize Burst damage.
Wanderer Passive Talents
Jade-Claimed Flower
When Wanderer casts his Elemental Skill and comes into contact with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro, he gains buffs based on the element absorbed. The priority is Pyro > Hydro > Electro > Cryo, and Wanderer can normally gain up to two buffs at once. After C4, he can gain one additional buff.
During the effect, the hexagonal ring behind Wanderer lights up according to the absorbed element.
Gales of Reverie
During the Windfavored state, when Wanderer’s Normal or Charged Attacks hit enemies, there is a 16% chance to gain the Descent effect.
When Descent is active, Wanderer’s next mid-air dash does not consume Kuugoryoku Points and fires four wind arrows, each dealing Anemo DMG based on 35% of his ATK. If Wanderer does not gain Descent after a hit, the chance increases by 12% next time. This effect can be checked once every 0.1 seconds.
In practice, players can identify Descent through its sound and visual effect. It is useful for dodging key attacks, especially without a shield, but it should not be spammed purely for damage because Wanderer’s main DPS still comes from Normal and Charged Attacks.
Wanderer Best Artifacts
Wanderer’s best artifact sets focus on increasing Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Anemo DMG, ATK, and CRIT stats. Desert Pavilion Chronicle is his best general set, while Echoes of an Offering can be considered at C6.
Best Artifact Sets
Desert Pavilion Chronicle
Desert Pavilion Chronicle is Wanderer’s best general artifact set. It increases Anemo DMG and boosts Normal Attack, Charged Attack, and Plunging Attack damage after a Charged Attack hits an opponent.
Because this set requires a Charged Attack to trigger its 4-piece effect, Wanderer should usually start his damage window with a Charged Attack before continuing with Normal Attack strings.
Echoes of an Offering
Echoes of an Offering can be used for C6 Wanderer because his high hit frequency allows him to benefit more from the set’s Normal Attack damage effect. However, for most players, Desert Pavilion Chronicle remains easier and more consistent.
Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
Shimenawa’s Reminiscence is usable if you already have excellent pieces. However, it consumes Energy when casting Elemental Skill, which can make Elemental Burst usage less comfortable. Choose it based on your rotation and sub-stat quality.
Recommended Main Stats
Anemo DMG Bonus Goblet is generally better than ATK% Goblet under similar sub-stat quality, since Wanderer highly values Anemo damage bonuses.
Recommended Sub Stats
Recommended Stat Goals
Wanderer Best Weapons
Wanderer performs best with Catalysts that increase CRIT, Normal Attack damage, Attack Speed, or ATK. His signature weapon is the best overall choice, but several 5-star and 4-star weapons are viable.
Best Weapons for Wanderer
Tulaytullah’s Remembrance
Tulaytullah’s Remembrance is Wanderer’s signature weapon and his best-in-slot option. It provides CRIT DMG, increases Normal Attack speed, and boosts Normal Attack damage, perfectly matching Wanderer’s airborne DPS playstyle.
Cashflow Supervision
Cashflow Supervision is another strong 5-star Catalyst. It provides CRIT Rate and improves Normal Attack performance, making it a powerful alternative if you do not have Wanderer’s signature weapon.
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is a reliable 5-star option with CRIT Rate. Its movement speed and Elemental DMG bonuses work well with Wanderer’s on-field playstyle, especially in longer field-time rotations.
Skyward Atlas
Skyward Atlas offers high ATK and a strong passive. It does not provide CRIT stats, so artifact quality becomes more important, but it remains a solid 5-star option.
The Widsith
The Widsith can be very strong at high refinement, especially R5, but its performance depends on its random buff. It can reach high burst-window damage, but it is less consistent than premium 5-star options.
Solar Pearl
Solar Pearl is a stable 4-star Battle Pass weapon. It provides CRIT Rate and improves Elemental Skill, Elemental Burst, and Normal Attack damage, making it easy to build around.
Wanderer Key Constellations
Wanderer works at C0, but his high-end performance improves significantly with constellations and strong team support. C1 improves comfort and attack speed, C2 greatly improves Burst damage, and C6 is his strongest constellation.
Constellation Performance
C1
During the Windfavored state, Wanderer’s Normal and Charged Attack speed increases by 10%. This improves the feel of his Charged Attack and Normal Attack combos.
C1 also increases the damage of the wind arrows fired by his Gales of Reverie passive by an additional 25% of his ATK.
C2
C2 is one of Wanderer’s most important upgrades. While in the Windfavored state, if Kuugoryoku Points are below half, his Elemental Burst damage is increased by up to 200%.
After C2, Wanderer should generally use his Burst near the end of his airborne duration to maximize the bonus.
C6
C6 is Wanderer’s strongest constellation. During the Windfavored state, his Normal Attacks trigger an additional instance of damage equal to 40% of the original Normal Attack damage. He also gains extra Kuugoryoku Points, improving both damage and airborne uptime.
This constellation greatly increases his sustained DPS and makes his rotation much smoother.
Wanderer Best Team Compositions
Faruzan is the most important support for Wanderer. Her Elemental Burst increases Anemo DMG, reduces enemy Anemo RES, and at C6 increases Anemo CRIT DMG, making her the core support for nearly all Wanderer teams.
Wanderer also benefits from damage buffers, off-field DPS characters, healers, and shielders. Because he can be interrupted while airborne, a shield or interruption-resistance teammate is highly recommended unless you are confident in dodging.
Recommended Teammates
Wanderer Hypercarry Team
Wanderer + Faruzan + Bennett + Zhongli / C4 Jean / Thoma / Layla is one of his most stable hypercarry teams. Faruzan provides Anemo support, Bennett gives ATK buffs and healing, and the final slot improves survivability or additional resistance shred.
Wanderer Yelan Team
Wanderer + Faruzan + Yelan + Layla / Bennett / Zhongli adds strong off-field Hydro damage and damage bonuses from Yelan. Layla or Zhongli helps prevent airborne interruption, while Bennett can be used if you want more ATK.
Wanderer Furina Team
Wanderer + Faruzan + Furina + C4 Jean / Charlotte is a strong team with high damage potential. Furina provides powerful teamwide damage buffs, while Jean or Charlotte helps maintain healing for Furina’s Fanfare stacking.
Wanderer Electro-Charged Team
Wanderer + Faruzan + Xingqiu + Beidou provides off-field Hydro and Electro damage with some interruption resistance from Xingqiu and Beidou. This team is comfortable and more accessible than some premium options.

Wanderer Materials
To fully build Wanderer, players should prepare both character ascension materials and talent materials. His recommended high-investment talent setup is usually 10 / 9 / 9, or 10 / 9 / 10 after C2.
Wanderer Character Ascension Materials
Character Material Sources
Rukkhashava Mushrooms are one of Wanderer’s most important farming materials. They are mainly found in Sumeru rainforest areas, especially around Apam Woods, Mawtiyima Forest, and other shaded or elevated forest regions.
Wanderer Talent Level Materials
For one talent from Level 1 to 10:
For a common high-investment setup of 10 / 9 / 9, prepare approximately:
Talent Material Sources
Talent Books: Praxis Series
Wanderer uses the Praxis talent book series. These can be farmed from the Steeple of Ignorance domain in Sumeru on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Weekly Boss Material: Daka’s Bell
Daka’s Bell drops from the weekly boss Shouki no Kami, the Prodigal in the Joururi Workshop domain. Since weekly boss drops are limited to one claim per week, players should start farming early if they plan to triple-crown or heavily invest in Wanderer.
Artifact Domain: City of Gold
Desert Pavilion Chronicle can be farmed from the City of Gold domain in Sumeru. This is Wanderer’s best general artifact domain and should be prioritized once his level, talents, and weapon are ready.
Conclusion
Wanderer is a unique 5-star Anemo Catalyst on-field DPS and one of the most distinctive characters in Genshin Impact thanks to his airborne combat style. He deals most of his damage through enhanced Normal and Charged Attacks during his Elemental Skill, making Normal Attack his highest talent priority.
His best artifact set is Desert Pavilion Chronicle, with Echoes of an Offering, Shimenawa’s Reminiscence, and Anemo/ATK mixed sets serving as alternatives. His best weapon is Tulaytullah’s Remembrance, while Cashflow Supervision, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, Skyward Atlas, The Widsith, and Solar Pearl are all strong options depending on your account.
For teams, Faruzan is his most important support, especially at C6. Bennett, Furina, Yelan, Jean, Zhongli, Layla, Thoma, Xingqiu, and Beidou can all help improve his damage, survivability, or comfort.
