Brawl Stars Brawler Blast: What the 50% Choice Chance Means

·Brawl Stars Guides Hub

Brawler Blast has a 50% chance to trigger a Brawler choice, but that does not mean every unlock offers four characters—or lets you pick anyone you want. The choice, when it appears, contains two to four Brawlers. If only one Brawler of that rarity remains locked, the choice cannot trigger at all.

That distinction matters before you tap Unlock Now. Paying to bring an unlock forward is a different decision from buying a guaranteed selection. Read the choice rules separately from the Credit requirement and the bonus upgrades, because each answers a different question about what you receive.

Brawler Blast shooting gallery with Brawler targets

Brawler Blast starts with Credits, not a guaranteed selector

According to Supercell’s Brawler Blast rules, collecting enough Credits to unlock a Brawler starts an arcade-style shooting gallery. It displays ten targets from the same rarity. You knock targets down, and the last Brawler remaining is the one you unlock.

The Credit requirements are 160 for Rare, 430 for Super Rare, 925 for Epic, 1,900 for Mythic, 3,800 for Legendary and 5,500 for Ultra. Those are rarity thresholds, not a promise that a particular character appears in a choice. Check the rarity attached to your next unlock before comparing the remaining Credits.

A smaller unfinished collection does not remove the gallery slots. When fewer than ten Brawlers of that rarity remain to unlock, empty targets fill the remaining positions. Supercell explicitly says these blanks do not reduce your chances of earning Gem Fragments. A blank target is therefore not evidence that your bonus reward has been taken away.

The choice-size percentages apply after the choice triggers

There are two separate rolls to understand. First comes the 50% chance to trigger a choice. Within a triggered choice, Supercell lists 57.14% for two candidates, 28.57% for three and 14.29% for four. These three figures describe the size of an existing choice; they are not three additional chances applied to every unlock.

Four candidates

The final column is a calculation: multiply the 50% trigger rate by each published choice-size percentage. For example, 50% × 14.29% = 7.145%, rounded to about 7.15%. It assumes an unlock where the choice feature can trigger; it does not apply when only one Brawler of that rarity remains. Rounding also means displayed totals can differ slightly from 100%.

These numbers still cannot tell you the chance of seeing one named Brawler. A choice-size table does not specify how individual candidates are selected. If your goal is a particular character, do not turn the four-candidate probability into a personal guarantee.

Gem Fragments add upgrades, but the reward pools have limits

The Gem Fragments explanation says each knocked-down target can award up to four fragments. Collected fragments can become bonus Power Levels or upgrades for the newly unlocked Brawler. These fragments are part of the Brawler Blast reward system; they should not be budgeted as spendable Gems.

One to four Gem Fragments shown in the official reward illustration

The fragment table is organized by a single target’s fragment count. One fragment lists +1 Power Level; two list +2 Power Levels, a random Gadget or a random Super Rare Gear; three list +3 Power Levels or a random Star Power; four list +4 Power Levels, a Hypercharge or a random Buffie. Entries in the same row are possible outcomes, not a bundle you automatically receive together.

For an entire Brawler Blast, the published caps are one Gadget, one Gear, one Star Power, one Hypercharge, one Buffie and up to ten bonus Power Levels. These are maximums, not minimum rewards. Unreleased Hypercharges and Buffies are excluded, and receiving an ability before its required Power Level does not mean it becomes immediately usable.

Spend for the unlock you can accept, not the roll you hope for

The Unlock Now button offers an instant Gem-based unlock from the Unlock a Random Brawler screen. The support rules do not state that spending Gems increases the choice trigger rate or improves the fragment roll. Evaluate the purchase using the normal published rules, rather than assuming the paid route provides a better selection.

If you decide to add paid currency, the Brawl Stars product page is a place to review the available purchase option. Keep the actual unlock decision inside the game: check its Gem cost, the rarity involved and how many Brawlers of that rarity remain before committing.

A useful test is whether you would accept the unlock without a choice and without your preferred bonus upgrade. If the answer is yes, acceleration may fit your goal. If the purchase only feels worthwhile with four candidates and a particular reward, the published probabilities do not support treating that outcome as the expected purchase result.
