Who Is Hu Tao?

Hu Tao is a limited 5-star Pyro Polearm character from Liyue, released in Version 1.3 (March 2, 2021). She is the 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor and remains one of the strongest single-target Pyro carries in Genshin Impact.

Hu Tao deals most of her damage during Paramita Papilio, which converts attacks to Pyro and scales with her Max HP. She performs best in Vaporize teams and becomes especially dangerous when fighting below 50% HP.

Skill Mechanics and Talent Priority

Normal Attack: Secret Spear of Wangsheng

Performs up to 6 rapid polearm strikes.
Hu Tao's Charged Attack is a major part of her damage pattern.
Most of her optimized play revolves around Charged Attack cancels during her Skill uptime.

Elemental Skill: Guide to Afterlife

Cooldown: 16s. Duration: 9s.

Consumes a portion of Hu Tao's HP to enter Paramita Papilio.
Converts Normal and Charged Attacks to Pyro and grants an ATK bonus based on Max HP.
This is Hu Tao's main damage window and the most important part of her kit.
Hu Tao cannot have her Pyro infusion overridden during this state.
