Wuthering Waves Version 3.5 Preview: Everything That Matters Before the July 10 Update
New story, banners, events, rewards, and community discussions — here's what you should know before Version 3.5 goes live.

Version 3.5 Quick Summary
You can read this entire article in under 3 minutes and know exactly what to do before July 10.
What Makes Version 3.5 Different?
Compared with Version 3.4 (the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration), Version 3.5 shifts the focus from crossover spectacle to narrative depth and long-term infrastructure.
This is a foundational patch — it sets up systems and content that will persist for months, not just a 6-week event cycle. Here is why it matters:
First multi-version story arc — Mengzhou spans 3.5 through 3.7, the most ambitious narrative expansion since Rinascita
Three new 5★ Resonators in one patch — the most since launch (Yangyang: Xuanling, Suisui, Rover: Electro)
Reverb Convene debut — a pick-your-own banner system that lets you select any of six veteran 5★ Resonators and their signature weapons
Xbox Series same-day launch — Wuthering Waves becomes a truly 5-platform game (PS5, PC, iOS, Android, Xbox)
Motorbike goes permanent — free Chassis Mod from the main quest, transforming overworld traversal
Major QoL infrastructure — Bioprinting, Quest Fast-Jump, PC client compression, and per-Resonator voice language selection
If you skipped 3.4 or took a break, 3.5 is the version that makes coming back worthwhile — and staying worthwhile long after.

Banner Roadmap
Version 3.5 runs from July 10 through August 19, split into two Convene phases plus a pick-your-own Reverb system that spans the entire version.
Version 3.5 Banner Timeline
Phase I Convene (July 10 → July 30)
Phase I Weapon Convene: Azure Oath (NEW) / Spectrum Blaster (Rerun) / Daybreaker's Spine (Rerun)
Phase I 4★ UP Weapons: Commando of Conviction, Hollow Mirage, Discord
Phase II Convene (July 30 → August 19)
Phase II Weapon Convene: Firstlight's Herald (NEW) / Everbright Polestar (Rerun)

Event Priority Guide
Not every event deserves the same amount of your time. Here is a star-rated priority list so you can focus on what actually matters.
Total estimated free Astrite from limited events: ~5,000+ (approximately 31 pulls) Plus 10 free pulls from login = approximately 41 total free pulls this version
Recurring Content in Version 3.5
Tip: Front-load the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ events on Day 1. Gifts of Aftertune requires 7 consecutive days — missing one day loses pulls. Start A Glimpse of Xuanfang immediately to unlock the map for other content. Lollo Campaign begins July 6, so you can start it even before the version update. Plan your farming around Bountiful Crescendo (Jul 23–Aug 13) and Chord Cleansing (Aug 6–Aug 19) double-drop windows.
Community Spotlight
Several community findings have generated discussion ahead of Version 3.5's launch. These are interesting to follow but should be treated as unofficial until Kuro Games confirms them.
Chisa and Lynae Outfit Character Icons — Icons for the "Peppermint" (Lynae) and "Peach Parfait" (Chisa) summer outfits were shared via datamine on r/WutheringWavesLeaks. Both outfits are confirmed as Store purchases at 1,980 Lunites (discounted) during 3.5, reverting to 2,480 Lunites afterward.
Event Calendar Datamine — A full event timeline image was shared showing all Phase I/II banners, Reverb Convene, special events, and double-drop windows with exact start/end dates. The calendar confirms the login event (Gifts of Aftertune) offers 10 Convene pulls and that Lollo Campaign starts before the version launch on July 6.
Yangyang: Xuanling Kit Leaks — Detailed kit descriptions (stance-switch, Melody/Azure Plume mechanics) circulated before the official broadcast. The official Version 3.5 Special Broadcast largely confirmed these details.
Future Speculation — Unconfirmed discussions about potential 3.6/3.7 banners, future Resonators, and the scope of the Mengzhou multi-version arc.
These discussions are based on community findings and should not be considered official until confirmed by Kuro Games. Official patch notes will be published on launch day.
Three Things Most Players Will Miss
These are easy-to-overlook items that can cost you real progress or savings if you forget them.
1. Claim Mail Rewards After Maintenance
The 7-hour maintenance (July 9–10 depending on timezone) compensates players with free Astrite and materials via in-game mail. These rewards have an expiration date — claim them immediately after logging in on July 10. Do not let compensation rewards sit uncollected.
2. Spend Waveplates Before Maintenance Starts
Waveplate caps at 240 and does not carry over. If you have excess Waveplates on July 9, spend them on Tacet Fields or Boss runs before the server goes down. Every wasted Waveplate equals lost progression — and you cannot get it back after maintenance.
3. Peppermint and Peach Parfait Discount Window
Both outfits are permanently available, but the 500 Lunite discount (1,980 → 2,480) only lasts during Version 3.5. If you are considering either outfit, buy during the discount window — it closes when Phase II ends on August 19. After that, you pay full price forever.
Before You Update: Preparation Checklist
☐ Finish current Version 3.4 events — collab banners and events end July 10
☐ Claim all pending Astrites — check mail, dailies, Tower rewards, and any unclaimed event rewards
☐ Spend Waveplates down to approximately 0 — do not let 240 Waveplate go to waste during maintenance
☐ Farm Resonator ascension materials — if you plan to pull Yangyang: Xuanling or Suisui, pre-farm their materials now
☐ Prepare Weapon EXP materials — new signature weapons (Azure Oath, Firstlight's Herald) will need Weapon EXP immediately after you pull them
☐ Save Lustrous Tides — do not spend on 3.4 banners if you are targeting 3.5 Resonators
☐ Free storage space — the 3.5 update pre-download is available; the PC client uses new compression but the initial download may still be large
☐ Download the update early — pre-download window is open; install before July 10 to avoid long wait times on launch day
☐ Note your pity count — know exactly how many pulls you have saved so you can budget on Day 1
☐ Set a daily login reminder — Gifts of Aftertune requires 7 consecutive days; missing one day loses pulls
☐ Redeem livestream codes — Version 3.5 codes typically expire within 24–48 hours; redeem immediately after the Special Broadcast
Version 3.5 Livestream Redemption Codes
Redeem codes in-game: Terminal → Settings → Other Settings → Redemption Code. You must reach Union Level 2 first.
If you're planning to recruit upcoming Resonators on day one, preparing your Astrites before the update can help you avoid missing launch banners and limited-time events. Topuplist provides a fast and secure way to top up Lunites, making it easier to start Version 3.5 with the resources you need — including the first-purchase double bonus on every tier.
Which Players Benefit Most from Version 3.5?
Official Information vs Community Discussions
Community-sourced information is labeled throughout this article. Everything in the "Officially Confirmed" column comes from Kuro Games' official Version 3.5 broadcast and patch notes.
Topuplist Editor's Take ⭐
This is not a summary — it is advice.
If you're mainly interested in new characters: Yangyang: Xuanling is the premium Havoc Heavy ATK DPS this patch — her stance-switch kit has the highest burst ceiling among all 3.5 Resonators. Suisui is the universal amplifier (25% All DMG for 30 seconds on Outro) and pairs with almost any DPS. If you can only pull one, pick based on your team needs: need a Havoc DPS → Xuanling; need team support → Suisui.
If you're saving Astrites: Version 3.5 gives 5,000+ free Astrite and 10 free pulls from the login event. Complete all events before deciding to spend. The Reverb Convene is the most flexible banner in WuWa history — but do not waste Astrite on it unless you genuinely need one of the six selectable Resonators. Focus your resources on the characters you actually want.
If you're returning after skipping previous updates: Start with Chapter IV (free Rover: Electro), claim all login and event rewards, then decide on one banner target. The updated beginner system makes catching up faster than ever. Do not feel pressured to pull everything — one focused target is better than spreading thin across multiple banners.
FAQ
How long is maintenance?
Approximately 7 hours. Servers go down July 9 at 4:00 PM ET / July 10 at 4:00 AM UTC+8 and come back July 10 at 11:00 AM UTC+8. Compensation rewards arrive via in-game mail — claim them immediately after logging in.
Should I save Astrites for Version 3.5?
Yes. 3.5 offers two new meta-relevant Resonators and the most flexible Convene system ever. If you are sitting on leftover Astrite from 3.4, hold it — do not spend on collab banners that end July 10.
Which event should I finish first?
Gifts of Aftertune (login) requires 7 consecutive days — start on Day 1 and do not skip. Then do A Glimpse of Xuanfang to unlock the map. Lollo Campaign actually starts July 6, so you can begin it before the version update. Everything else can wait.
How many events are in Version 3.5?
There are 8 limited-time events (Gifts of Aftertune, A Glimpse of Xuanfang, Shape of Yesterday, Lament Recon: Tacet Crisis, Recaptured: Action Highlights, Virtual Crisis: Quadrant Trials, Lollo Campaign: New Journey, In Search of Lost Jade) plus 2 double-drop events (Bountiful Crescendo and Chord Cleansing) and the recurring Endstate Matrix/Tower of Adversity cycles.
Are Chisa and Lynae cosmetics officially confirmed?
Yes. Both outfits appeared in the official Version 3.5 broadcast and are confirmed as permanent Store purchases. The 500 Lunite discount is time-limited to the 3.5 version window — buy before August 19 if you want the discounted price.
Can new players start in Version 3.5?
Absolutely. The updated beginner event system, Xbox launch, and generous login rewards make 3.5 the best time to start Wuthering Waves. New players can immediately access the beginner system and progress toward Chapter IV. Xbox players get cross-progression across all platforms.
What should I do before maintenance?
Spend all Waveplates, claim pending mail and event rewards, finish 3.4 content, download the update early, note your pity count, and redeem livestream codes before they expire. See the full Preparation Checklist above.
