Wild Rift Pass Elite Costs 575 More Cores: Is It Worth It?

The regular Wild Rift Premium Pass costs 415 Wild Cores, while Pass Elite costs 990. That 575-Core difference does not buy a second reward track. It buys speed: 20 instant Wild Pass levels, a Role Choice Skin Chest instead of the level-one Random Skin Chest, and easier access to late-track rewards. If you already play enough to finish the pass, Premium is normally the better purchase. Elite becomes defensible when time, not motivation, is the real bottleneck.

Premium and Elite Unlock the Same Main Reward Track

Both paid options unlock the Premium reward line. The current Riot Wild Pass page lists the standard Premium Pass at 415 Wild Cores and Pass Elite at 990 Wild Cores. Premium adds paid rewards through the pass, additional Seasonal Challenges and access to eligible Pass Emporium items.

Elite is therefore an upgrade in pace and reward targeting, not a separate tier with an entirely different skin track. Before spending 990 Cores, check your current level, uncompleted weekly missions and the days remaining. A player who can naturally reach the wanted milestone receives little value from paying to skip progress already within reach.

What the Extra 575 Wild Cores Actually Buy

Pass Elite grants 20 Wild Pass levels immediately. Buying 20 individual levels at the listed 150 Wild Cores per level would cost 3,000 Cores, so the Elite price difference is far cheaper than waiting until the final day and buying the same number one by one. That comparison only matters, however, if those levels are genuinely needed.

The second benefit is the Role Choice Skin Chest. Elite changes the level-one paid reward from a fully random skin chest to a chest that rolls a skin for a preferred position. It narrows the outcome but does not let the buyer select one exact champion or skin. Riot also warns that upgrading after already claiming the Random Skin Chest does not retroactively grant the Role Choice version. Players considering Elite should decide before claiming that first paid reward.

The 1,380-Core Bundle Is a Two-Pass Commitment

Riot lists a 1,380-Core bundle containing the Elite versions of both the Wild Pass and Mini Pass. Compared with buying both Elite tiers separately, it packages the two cycles together and grants immediate access to the Mini Pass skins. It is not automatically the cheapest useful choice, because its value assumes you want both passes.

The current schedule places the main pass from September 22 to December 2, 2026, followed by the Mini Pass from December 3, 2026 to January 14, 2027. Someone interested only in the current featured or returning main-pass skin should not prepay for the Mini cycle merely because the bundle looks complete. Inspect all three selectable skins for each pass and the time available to play both periods.

Use Remaining Missions Before Paying for Levels

Wild Pass progress comes from daily play, weekly missions and Seasonal Challenges. Weekly missions can remain queued, subject to the page's three-week accumulation rule, so an account that appears behind may still have a large amount of recoverable XP. Mission Skip Cards can also finish weekly objectives without buying levels.

Calculate the shortfall after counting accessible missions, not from the current level alone. If 20 free levels remain achievable, Elite saves no real time. If only two levels are missing on the last day, compare the desired reward with 300 Wild Cores rather than paying the full 575-Core upgrade difference. The best choice can change during the season.

Wild Stars and Unclaimed Rewards Create Separate Deadlines

Wild Stars belong to the pass that generated them. Riot states that unused Stars convert into Blue Motes when the next pass begins, while pass rewards disappear when the pass expires. Players should therefore spend Stars on wanted Emporium content and claim unlocked rewards before the deadline instead of treating the balances as permanent inventory.

This also changes late upgrade value. Premium can award previously unlocked paid rewards when purchased later, but that does not remove the need to claim them before expiry. Open the pass screen, use Claim All, then check the Emporium and Trove separately.

Recharge for a Chosen Option, Not a Rounded Balance

First decide whether the account needs 415, 990 or 1,380 Wild Cores, then subtract the current balance. Buying a familiar package before selecting the pass can leave stranded Cores or encourage an unnecessary Elite upgrade. Players using the Wild Rift Wild Cores recharge page should confirm the Riot account, supported region and live denomination before paying.

For most active players, the answer is simple: buy Premium and earn the track through play. Choose Elite when its 20-level boost prevents a real deadline loss or when the Role Choice Skin Chest materially improves the level-one reward for your account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Pass Elite include different main pass rewards?

It unlocks the same Premium reward track, then adds 20 instant levels and changes the level-one chest to a Role Choice Skin Chest.

Can I claim the Random Skin Chest and upgrade later?

You can upgrade later, but Riot says a previously claimed Random Skin Chest will not be replaced with the Role Choice Skin Chest.

Is buying 20 individual levels cheaper?

No. At 150 Wild Cores per level, 20 levels cost 3,000 Cores. The Elite upgrade difference is 575 Cores, but it is valuable only when those levels are actually needed.

Do unused Wild Stars carry into the next pass?

No. They are tied to their pass and convert into Blue Motes when the next Wild Pass season begins.
