NIKKE WAVE TO YOU Summer Event Guide: Cinderella Crystal Wave, Marciana Rework & Persona Collab Prep

If you thought last summer's NIKKE event was stacked, Shift Up just said hold my beer. The WAVE TO YOU update dropped on July 2, and it's the kind of patch where your gem stash goes from "comfortable" to "please send help" in about five minutes. New limited Pilgrim, a teacher-turned-DPS, surprise balance buffs nobody saw coming, and — oh yeah — a Persona 3 + 4 + 5 collab teased at the end of the livestream. Let's get into it.

1. Cinderella: Crystal Wave — The Hidden Black Swimsuit Easter Egg

Banner: July 2 – July 23
Role: Burst III / Iron / Pilgrim / MG Attacker (40s cooldown)

Cinderella's summer alt is the headliner, and Shift Up clearly knew what they were doing with this one. Before we even talk numbers, there's something you need to know: tap her standing pose in the lobby. Do it. She switches into a hidden black swimsuit variant that isn't advertised anywhere in the banner UI. It's a pure Easter egg interaction — and the community has been losing its mind over it since launch.

Is She Worth Pulling?

Short answer: yes. She's the first Iron-element attacker upgrade since Rapi, and in testing she clocks in roughly 30% stronger than Rapi in equal-element conditions. That's not a marginal sidegrade — it's a genuine power leap.

Her kit, however, is probably the most over-engineered thing Shift Up has ever shipped. She has two modes:

  • MG Mode (default): Standard machine gun playstyle. Deals core hit damage with her Burst follow-up. Stronger of the two modes by about 29% in raw DPS testing.

  • Sniper Mode (weapon swap): Activated by firing one shot → reload → fire one shot → reload. Switches her core damage buff into a parts damage buff. Weaker in direct numbers, but necessary against enemies without an active core — because in MG mode, her follow-up damage simply doesn't trigger without a core to hit.

Most players will just leave her in MG mode on auto and call it a day — and honestly, that's the optimal play for 90% of content. The Sniper mode exists as a situational fallback for coreless bosses.

Team Synergy Quick Hits

  • With Zwei (Treasure): Potentially cracked. Zwei's pierce + crit rate package synergizes well with Sniper-mode Cinderella, but you need heavy crit damage investment on your Overload gear to make it worth it. If you're already running a Zwei comp, it's a serious option.

  • With Miranda: An off-meta pick that actually works. Miranda's guaranteed crits apply to Cinderella's Burst damage and her passive 5-second trigger — that's about 78× multiplier worth of guaranteed crits. Not as optimized as Zwei, but usable if you're short on options.

  • Overload Priority: Elemental 4× → ATK 3–4× → Max Ammo 1–2× → Crit DMG fill. Don't skip the ammo lines even though half her damage is auto-triggered — MG mode still needs the sustain.

Pull Recommendation: Must-Pull

She's a limited Pilgrim. After July 23, she enters the standard Pilgrim pool but will not be wishlistable. If you miss this banner, pulling her later is pure RNG lottery. Don't risk it.

2. Marciana: Marine Study — From Supporter to Main DPS

Banner: July 9 – July 30
Role: Burst III / Iron / Elysion / AR Attacker (40s cooldown)

Marciana's summer alt is one of the more interesting design pivots Shift Up has done. Her original version is a Supporter. This one? Full-on Attacker with a reverse snowball mechanic: the fewer Raptures remain on the field, the more damage she deals.

This makes her a specialist for:

  • Single-target boss fights where adds get cleared early

  • Solo Raid encounters that thin out over time

  • Any fight where you're in the final DPS burn phase with 1–2 enemies left

Pull Value Assessment

She's solid, but she's also an Elysion unit — which means she's competing for resources in a manufacturer bracket that already has strong options. If you're F2P or a light spender:

  • If you already pulled Cinderella: Marciana is luxury, not necessity. Save for Persona.

  • If you skipped Cinderella (why?): Marciana fills the Iron attacker slot decently, but she's less versatile than Cinderella.

  • If you're a collector or Elysion main: Go for it. The design alone is worth it.

The "fewer enemies = more damage" gimmick is genuinely effective in the right fights, but it's also a mechanic that can leave you hanging in wave-heavy content. She's a specialist — know what you're signing up for.

4. Surprise Balance Buffs — Elegg Just Got Scary

Nobody expected balance adjustments in a summer patch, but here we are. The changes were accidentally leaked early by the JP team (classic), but they're live now.

Overall output: roughly 9–10% higher across the board. Not earth-shattering, but Scarlet: Black Shadow was already a top-tier unit — this just widens the gap between her and the alternatives.

Elegg — ~80% Damage Increase (No, That's Not a Typo)

Yes, you read that right. Elegg's Burst damage got quadrupled. Her base numbers are still lower than dedicated carries and she's on a 20-second Burst cooldown (vs. the standard 40s), so she's not suddenly SSS-tier. But in the right comp, she's now a legitimate off-DPS option instead of a bench warmer.

If you had her collecting dust, it's time to dust her off and run some tests.

5. Persona 3 + 4 + 5 Collab — How Many Gems Should You Save?

This is the real bomb from the summer livestream. Shift Up teased a collaboration with the entire Persona series — not just Persona 5 Royal, not just one game. The teaser confirmed characters from Persona 3, Persona 4, AND Persona 5 will appear.

What We Know (So Far)

  • Scale: Three generations simultaneously. If each generation brings 2 characters, that's six limited banners. Even at a conservative estimate, you're looking at a collab larger than the Evangelion event.

  • Timing: No official date yet — just "coming soon" after the summer event. Best guess? Late July to August, possibly aligning with the July 23 content wave.

  • Format: ATLUS collaborations in other gacha games typically feature 2–4 limited characters with dedicated story events, so expect the same structure here.

Gem Math: What You Actually Need to Save

Here's the uncomfortable reality of NIKKE collab pulling:

  • 1 copy of a limited character: 200 Gold Mileage (guaranteed pity) = ~60,000 gems at worst case

  • MLB (Max Limit Break) ×3 dupes: Anywhere from 200 to 600 pulls depending on your luck

  • Full collab clear (6 characters, 1 copy each): Potentially 360,000+ gems if RNG hates you

Realistically, most players should aim for:

Running Low? Top Up NIKKE Gems

If your stash isn't where it needs to be after the summer banners, TopUpList offers NIKKE gem top-ups with better rates than the in-game shop. It's worth checking before you commit to raw in-app purchases — every extra gem counts when a triple-collab is looming.

Other Stuff Worth Knowing

  • New Boss: Island Eater (Iron-weak). Bring your Cinderella and Elegg.

  • Minigame: ISLAND BREAKER — brick breaker clone with Rapture enemies. Casual fun, event currency rewards.

  • A-1 Pictures Animation: Unlocks after clearing STORY II Normal. It's genuinely gorgeous.

  • FOR REST added to Archives: If you missed the previous story event, it's now available via Memory Films.

  • Music Drop: 12-track Lo-Fi remix album rolling out. Four seasonal themes featuring Dorothy, Siren, Crown, and Nayuta.

What Should You Actually Do?

  1. Redeem WAVETOYOU2026 before it expires.

  2. Pull Cinderella: Crystal Wave. Strongest Iron attacker since Rapi, limited Pilgrim, don't overthink it.

  3. Marciana is optional. Pull if you love the design or need an Elysion Iron DPS. Otherwise skip for Persona.

  4. Elegg buffs are real. +80% damage spike. Give her a test run if you have her built.

  5. Persona collab is the real priority. Three generations, potentially six banners. Every gem you don't spend this month is one you'll desperately want next month.

  6. Top up smart. If you're going to spend, TopUpList beats in-game rates for gem packs.

Summer 2026 in NIKKE is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself, Commander.
