MLBB Random Special Skin Chest Opens October 16: What the Reward Can Actually Guarantee

·MLBB Guides Hub

The MLBB Random Special Skin Chest is reported to open on October 16 as part of the tenth-anniversary period. Its useful promise is narrow: a qualifying claim awards a random skin from the event's Special-tier pool. It does not promise a chosen hero, a preferred skin or ownership of every item shown in anniversary promotion.

Multiple event trackers place the window from October 16 to November 8, but the current official event hub does not publish the chest's full pool and account-level conditions. Treat the in-game event page as the final authority for eligibility, mission progress, the live countdown and the exact reward preview on your server.

“Random Special” describes two different limits

The word Special describes the reward tier or event category. The word Random describes how the result is selected from the eligible pool. Confusing those two labels creates the most common false expectation: that completing the event unlocks a Special skin selection chest.

Claim

What can be relied on

What should not be assumed

The result belongs to the eligible tier or pool displayed by the live event

Every Special skin in MLBB is included

Random result

The event selects the reward under its displayed rules

The player chooses the hero or skin

Anniversary promotion

The chest is associated with the anniversary campaign

Every anniversary cosmetic comes from this chest

Event completion

A qualifying account can claim according to the live requirements

Opening the event page alone completes all missions

Check the event page before planning around November 8

Third-party schedules consistently list November 8 as the closing date, but regional rollout, server time and account eligibility can change what an individual player sees. On October 16, open the anniversary event page and record three things: the countdown, the required progress and the reward-preview button. If one is missing, do not infer it from a social post or another region's screenshot.

The official MLBB events hub confirms the wider tenth-anniversary campaign and current anniversary content. It does not currently provide a public ten-skin list for this chest. That is why a responsible claim stops at the random Special-tier mechanism rather than naming an unverified pool.

Finish free anniversary tasks before considering optional Diamonds. If a separate store purchase is already planned, the Mobile Legends purchase page is the relevant route, but Diamonds do not turn a random chest into a selector and should not be presented as a requirement for a free claim.

Duplicate handling can change the practical value

A random chest is more useful to an account with few eligible skins than to an account that already owns much of the pool, but the exact difference depends on the duplicate rule shown in game. Some events replace duplicates, convert them into another resource or exclude owned items; others do not. Do not budget around any of those outcomes until the reward details state which one applies.

Before opening the chest, compare the preview with the owned-skin list. If the interface shows probabilities, duplicate compensation or an “unowned first” condition, save a screenshot before confirming. If it shows none of those rules, assume only that the result is random within the displayed pool.

A safe claim sequence for October 16

  1. Update MLBB and enter the event from the in-game anniversary page.

  2. Confirm the chest is live on the intended account and note the server countdown.

  3. Open the reward preview; check the pool, ownership markers and duplicate rule.

  4. Complete the listed free tasks and verify progress after each claim.

  5. Open the chest only after accepting that the result is random, not selectable.

Expectation test: if only one specific skin would feel acceptable, a random chest is not a reliable way to obtain it. Treat any useful result as the event reward, not as proof that the player controlled the outcome.

The chest's value is a free or event-earned chance at an eligible Special-tier skin. Keeping that promise precise makes the activity easier to evaluate: verify the live rules, finish the requirements and judge the random result on the pool actually shown to your account.
