Free Fire OB54 Update Guide: New Features, Weapons and Balance Changes
Free Fire OB54 brings the 9th Anniversary celebration with skill enhancements for 8 characters, weapon awakening with infinite ammo, on-spot revival, a new party lobby, BR replay system, and major balance changes.
OB54 Update Overview
The OB54 update is the largest content drop of the year for Free Fire, centered around the 9th Anniversary celebration. The design philosophy focuses on match pacing — enriching the early game with more activities, providing more events during the mid-game, and delivering a sustained sense of progression in the late game. The update introduces a skill enhancement system for eight characters, a weapon awakening mechanic with infinite ammo, an on-spot revival feature, a completely new party lobby, a BR match replay system, and sweeping balance changes across characters and weapons.

9th Anniversary Celebration Events
Anniversary Missions
Each map region randomly generates a mission that players can accept through vending machines or mission points upon entering the area. Missions are completed cooperatively with teammates for rewards. Three mission types are available:
Fragment Collection tasks players with shooting and collecting anniversary fragments scattered across the map, then assembling them into a complete anniversary crystal. Reforged the Sword requires the team to defend and capture a knight's sword while progressively repairing it. Airborne Gold challenges players to use bounce pads to collect coins floating in the air.
Mission rewards include team-wide buff enhancements, gold pots that create a gold circle at the landing point where players dance to fill a progress bar for FF coins, high-value ground loot, refreshed gold machines within the region, upgraded vending machine discounts, and enhanced revival points with refreshed cooldowns and faster capture speed.
Anniversary Party Ground
The Factory location on the Bermuda map is temporarily replaced with a 9th Anniversary Party Ground featuring an entirely new layout and visual design, offering a fresh combat environment for the duration of the celebration.
The OB54 update packs an enormous amount of content into a single patch. If you want to gear up quickly and take full advantage of the anniversary events, Topuplist offers a convenient way to purchase Free Fire top-ups with instant delivery — useful when limited-time anniversary rewards and weapon upgrades demand rapid progression.
Skill Enhancement System
During the early and mid-game phases of a match, players earn skill enhancement energy by surviving, dealing damage, and securing kills. When the progress bar fills, players choose one of two enhancement options to strengthen their character's active skill.
Eight characters support skill enhancement, each offering two distinct paths. Players can only select one enhancement per match.
Character Skill Enhancements
Chrono offers Time Veil, which creates an opaque force field blocking 1000 damage that external enemies cannot see through, or Time Drift, where the force field follows the user and blocks 600 damage with a toggle to stop movement.
Homer provides Drone Shockwave, which activates a scan upon hitting an enemy (120m range in BR, 30m in CS) that exposes enemies for 5 seconds, or Super Drone, which launches an enhanced drone with 15% increased speed for 15 seconds.
Oscar features Phantom Dash, which summons a phantom form to extend dash range, or Sustained Dash, which extends dash duration to 8 seconds with lower initial speed that increases over time.
Wukong offers Camouflage Decoy, which leaves a moving Wukong decoy at the original position that disappears after taking 10 damage, after 10 seconds, or when the user returns to human form, or Clone Camouflage, which transforms into a bush while generating two additional bushes for 10 seconds.
Kassie provides Mutual Focus, which restores 60 HP to the user when healing teammates regardless of manual or automatic activation, or Echo Bond, which generates mini Kassies behind the user and target teammate that deal 5 damage when the followed player hits shots with a 0.2-second cooldown.
Skyler offers Sticky Rhythm, which creates a small area adhering to the target enemy that continuously damages walls within it, or Split Rhythm, which searches for walls within 75m, locks them for 15 seconds, and simultaneously fires sonic waves at up to 3 walls.
Alok returns with Speed Mix, which expands the aura range to 10m and grants 16% speed boost to teammates inside, or Healing Mix, which restores 20 HP per second during the skill duration.
Koda returns with Sync Vision, which marks enemies exposed during the first detection interval for 3 seconds and shares the information with teammates, or Imprint Vision, which grants stackable imprints (up to 3 layers) each time an enemy is exposed, with each layer dealing 10 additional damage when attacking.
Active skill characters not listed above receive a 15% skill cooldown reduction as a universal buff.
Weapon Awakening System
The weapon awakening system introduces a new upgrade chip called the Weapon Awakener. All weapons except melee weapons and secondary weapons can be awakened. Awakened weapons receive comprehensive stat enhancements with one attribute receiving an additional bonus, and critically, awakened weapons gain infinite ammunition — with the exception of grenade weapons and grenade modes.
Weapon Awakeners can be obtained from the upgrade arsenal. Additionally, when a match reaches 10 surviving players, all remaining players automatically receive one Weapon Awakener, ensuring the late game is defined by upgraded firepower.
On-Spot Revival
A new revival option has been added to the anniversary event. Each player can use on-spot revival once per match. The feature becomes unavailable after the fourth safe zone shrinks. Revival takes 10 seconds to complete, and upon revival, the player automatically retrieves their own loot box items that have not been picked up by other players.
Battle Royale Mode Updates
BR Zone Loot Level Display
During the skydive phase, players can now view the loot level of each major area on the map. Loot levels are color-coded as red, gold, and purple, allowing for more informed landing decisions.
Boxing Interaction
A boxing emote has been added to the quick message menu. When a player eliminates an enemy and a teammate is nearby, a boxing button automatically appears. Multiple players can participate in boxing interactions simultaneously, adding a social and celebratory element to squad play.
Random Event Adjustments
The random event rotation has been updated. Matches now open with the MAG-7 event, followed by vending machine discount events, thunderstorm zone events, loot upgrade events, and weapon enhancement events.
Other BR Adjustments
Misha's skill now applies to horses. Spectator revival card discounts have been disabled. The revival card purchase window has been adjusted from 420 seconds to 355 seconds. Weapon racks now include ammunition. Vending machine interactions have been improved to reduce interruption from damage. Active skill cards have been removed from ground loot. Wealth mushrooms have been removed. Medkits have been removed from gold machines but have increased ground drop rates. The post-revival FF coin cap is set at 600. The reinforcement hammer price has increased from 400 to 600 FF coins. The tactical market bolt maker is limited to one purchase. Skill enhancers have been added to vending machines with a limit of one per card per person. Wall maker limits increase by one per level, with kills and loot boxes unified to one.
Clash Squad Mode Updates
CS Anniversary Celebration
Clash Squad receives its own anniversary rhythm adjustment, with skill enhancements introduced in the early game and weapon awakeners appearing in the mid-to-late game.
CS Specialty Point System
The cyber point system has been replaced by a new specialty point system. Players earn specialty points by capturing cyber airdrops, with specific rounds providing bonus points. During later purchase phases, players can select upgrade items that are then distributed for free each subsequent round.
Other CS Adjustments
When purchasing team EP, excess points are refunded as additional CS cash based on the number of mushrooms teammates purchased that round. Double-clicking a purchase slot now directly buys the item. The super bonfire now covers the entire spawn area with a new range outline effect.
Character Balance Changes
Six characters received balance adjustments in OB54.

Weapon Adjustments
Four weapons received significant buffs and were upgraded to gold rarity:
The shield gun has been reworked — it now reduces 5% damage with infinite shield points, replacing the previous 100% block with 128 shield points. The machete can now attack while running.
Weapon Source Adjustments
BR vending machine prices have been updated. The AUG-II costs 600 FF coins with a limit of 2 per match. The MP40 costs 400 FF coins with a limit of 5 per match. The MAG-7 costs 200 FF coins with a limit of 5 per match.
The basic arsenal now includes 2 sets of Level 2 armor and 2 sets of Level 3 armor, with Thompson, Groza, and AWM removed and PARAFAL, MP40, M590, and M82B added. The upgrade arsenal now provides 4 sets of Level 3 armor, with FAMAS, Charge Buster, and Kar98k removed and the same four buffed weapons added. High-tier loot zones have increased drop rates for MP40, PARAFAL, M82B, and M590.
CS Store Price Adjustments
The M24-III has been removed from CS and replaced with the M24-II, which costs 1600 CS cash with a 600 CS cash upgrade fee. The M82B is now obtainable from supply devices.
Map Changes
Several map adjustments accompany the OB54 update. In CS mode, the Solara Hub spawn point has new obstacles added next to the slide. In CS mode Kalahari, all ziplines have been removed. Building window jumping has been improved for smoother traversal. Building exterior edges can no longer be stood on to float or shoot — fixing exploits at locations such as the Bermuda Nurek Dam bridge exterior and NeXTerra Grav Labs exterior stairs. Bermuda 2.0 and Alpine maps have been removed from the rotation.
New Features and System Updates
9th Anniversary Party Lobby
A completely new party lobby has been introduced with three main areas. The Anniversary Zone allows players to participate in 9th anniversary activities and claim limited-time interactive items. The Arena Duel lets players queue for 1v1 duels where the winner stays to defend against the next challenger. The Party Dance Floor enables solo dancing or joining other players' dances. A new mini-game called Saddle Brawl features 2-player teams where the bottom player rides a unicycle controlling movement direction while the top player attacks. Players can create their own party lobby rooms, and the classic lobby remains the default on first login with a toggle button to switch to the party lobby.
BR Match Replay
After BR ranked or custom matches, players can access a replay from the results page or match history. The replay displays the full team movement route throughout the match, key events including battles, revivals, and arsenal captures, nearby enemy activity, and a full-map enemy heatmap. Replay videos can be shared to external platforms.
Pyro New Rewards
New Pyro fur colors have been added in six variants: orange, purple, blue, pink, dark red, and cyan. Pyro receives one free spin per level up, which can yield exclusive Pyro accessories.
Social Media Display
Player profiles can now link and display Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube accounts, with selective visibility options for which links appear publicly.
Spectator System Improvements
A free-view camera has been added to spectating. The nearby information panel displays the number of squads within a certain range, with click-to-switch viewpoint functionality. Team icons on the map can be directly clicked to switch the spectated target.
Additional System Updates
The movement joystick settings now include a fixed option that prevents the joystick from following the left hand. The camera system adds animation filters. The team-up button has been moved to a right-side popup that can accept random teammates from the previous match — if any member accepts, the entire party joins. Adding a new friend triggers a team-up notification. The recruitment system auto-filters AFK squad leaders and adds a quick switch button. CS and Lone Wolf custom matches now have a share button that generates a match result share image, displaying the past 7-day win-loss record if the opponent is a friend of the room host. Spectating improvements include visibility of the spectated player's healing items, throwables, walls, and devices.
Gameplay and UI Improvements
Scaled damage numbers have been introduced — higher damage produces larger numbers. Revival point, defensive airdrop, super airdrop, and cyber airdrop capture indicators have been improved with more prominent warnings when enemies enter the zone. Weapon UI has been improved in the training ground and CS store, with a new weapon attribute breakdown display. Reload sound mismatches for the AK47, Desert Eagle, Kar98k, M1873, Bizon, and XM8 have been fixed. Weapon auto-pickup logic has been improved to automatically equip enhanced versions of the same weapon on the ground. Aim assist has been improved to prioritize standing enemies over downed enemies when they overlap. Wall penetration damage indicators have been added for the M82B and SVD-Y, which leave marks when shooting through walls and change the crosshair when aiming at walls.
A new maximum movement speed cap has been implemented, encompassing skills, items, and event buff bonuses. When the cap is reached, a special visual effect appears. An assist self-revival feature has been added, allowing teammates to help downed players revive faster. Debuff status displays have been improved — special indicators appear when applying slow or healing reduction to enemies, and when breaking enemy armor or helmets. Characters affected by slow or healing reduction display special visual effects.
Craftland Updates
A creator level system has been introduced, with each level featuring an exclusive icon. Leveling up grants exclusive privileges and official support. The Craftland personal page has been fully redesigned, and a follow feature allows players to subscribe to other creators and receive notifications for map releases and updates. Creators can now display linked social media accounts on their profiles.
The Craftland page itself has been upgraded with a new brand color, improved page structure, and smoother interaction. Players can join friends' active Craftland rooms or games directly, and invite friends while playing. Map play count is now displayed. The feedback page has been improved with screenshot upload support for bug reports. Map cover image ratio has been standardized to 20:9. A new editor tutorial is accessible from the tutorial level button when creating a new map. Block editor controls have been improved to prevent accidental block selection during two-finger zoom.
